Macedonia Welcome Centre Literary Soiree

The next Macedonia Welcome Centre Literary Soiree under the auspices of the Slovak Embassy will take place on Thursday 17th November 2011 at 7.30 pm at the Centre premises. (Please see attachment for map and directions.)

Our guest will be the writer Venko Andonovski.

The topic of his talk is:

Reasons for the Absence of War-Wave Literature in Macedonia after 2001: Public Opinion and the Notion of Home.

enko Andonovski is the author of several books of short stories, poetry, literary theory and analysis, as well as three plays and three novels. His work has been very well received by peers and readers alike. He is the recipient of all major national literary awards and of the international Balkanika prize. At the same time, he is a bestselling author with his last novel “The Witch” having sold over 4 000 copies. Andonovski has a weekly column in the daily “Nova Makedonija” and holds a Professorship at the Department of Philology of the Skopje St. Cyril and Methodius University.
